Private Home Physical Therapy...

Possible Benefits...
Brian Julian, PT
The
goal of Senior Mobility Solutions is to assist those clients who can most
benefit from this service. All services are provided by Brian Julian,
PT, who has extensive experience in this area.
Brian completed
Physical Therapy school with a BS degree from Long Beach State University
in 1989. He then worked at San Francisco General Hospital and RK
Davies Medical Center in San Francisco before beginning his home health
career in 1990 with Visiting Nurses and Hospice of San Francisco.
Since then, he has specialized in home physical therapy with older people,
working also at Sterling Regional Medical Center (Colorado), Humboldt Home
Health, and Mad River Hospital Home Health Services. In addition
to seeing private clients, Brian currently works at Mad River Adult Day
Health in Arcata, and leads a free weekly exercise class at the McKinleyville
Senior Center (Thursdays at 2 p.m.).
Prior to PT
School, Brian received a BA in Philosophy (1980), and then worked several
years with developmentally disabled, mentally retarded, and mentally "ill"
people.
Since 1990,
Brian has worked with an immense variety of people in their unique home
environments, and has continued to avidly study human health. In
1995 he studied to become a Certified Natural Vision Instructor, and now
teaches community classes in natural vision improvement, educating students
in how they may improve their eyesight through practice of relaxed vision
habits.
Brian has
consistently striven for excellence in listening, communicating, and teaching,
and he displays these qualities in his work with people, along with compassion,
energy, and a sense of humor.
About our services...
Senior Mobility
Solutions (SMS) does not bill or provide documentation for Medicare or
other insurances, but instead works directly for the client, operating
on a "fee for service" basis.
Initial phone
consultations are free. Home physical therapy visits are $75 per
session, with each session lasting approximately an hour or so. A
travel surcharge may be added for clients living outside the Arcata/Blue
Lake/McKinleyville area.
Clients vary
widely in how many sessions they need: some benefit greatly from
just a single visit; others may need sessions once or twice a month, weekly,
or in some cases several times a week. SMS will be flexible
in arranging a schedule that meets a client's individual needs--both initially
and as these needs change over time.
In some cases,
clients may need nursing, medical, or other services that are beyond the
scope of SMS. These clients will be advised to ask their doctors
for the appropriate professional referrals. Also, in some cases clients
may be eligible for Medicare benefits covering PT (physical therapy).
SMS will advise such clients of this possibility, and those who wish to
pursue this option can then ask their doctor for a referral to home health
PT (if the client is "homebound"), or outpatient PT.
